Celunite Becomes First Mobile Phone Operating System Provider to Join the LiMo Foundation

Company Joins as a Core Member to Help the Foundation Build a World-Class LiMo Compliant Platform

Sunnyvale, California, August 7, 2007 – Celunite, developer of a nextgeneration mobile software platform based on Linux and other open source innovations, today announced it has become the first mobile phone operating system provider to join the LiMo Foundation, an independent, not-for-profit entity that strives to increase the adoption of Linux within the mobile industry.

“We welcome Celunite as the first mobile phone platform provider to join our founding members engaged in building a world-class mobile Linux platform,” said NTT DoCoMo’s Senior Vice President, Dr. Kiyohito Nagata, chairman of the LiMo Foundation. "Celunite is keen to begin assisting LiMo to realize a competitive step change in the delivery of handsets and service propositions to consumers.”

Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics, and Vodafone established the LiMo Foundation to develop the world’s first globally competitive, Linux-based software platform for mobile devices.

“Celunite joined the LiMo Foundation as a core member the moment LiMo began admitting non-founding members,” said Hankil Yoon, vice president of Linux Platform and Devices for Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Communication Division and chair of LiMo’s Architecture Council. “This prompt action demonstrates Celunite’s commitment to developing open mobile Linux solutions.”

“We are excited to participate in the LiMo Foundation and eager to contribute our talents and technology to help LiMo deliver a best-in-class, commercially successful mobile Linux platform,” said Mahesh Veerina, CEO of Celunite. “Our participation is directed at helping LiMo unite and unify its ecosystem, accelerating the deployment of Linux in mobile communications.”
